FAMILY HIKES

Long enough to feel like a hike. Short enough to avoid a meltdown. Hard enough to jusify the ice cream afterwards. Maintained enough for little legs. With views worth every "are we there yet?"

Click any hike name for trail details on AllTrails.

Mt. Thom

A mostly smooth trail with some moderately steep switchbacks. Great views overlooking Cultus Lake and Vedder Mountain, with glimpses of the Vedder River.

Lindeman Lake

Popular for its beautiful cold and clear lake. This is a short and steep hike that'll get your heart racing while your climbing, but the intensity will be over before you know it - unless you carry on to Greendrop Lake.

Qoqó:lem Trail

This hike starts at the northeast tip of Vedder Mountain. It's a moderately steep gravel trail with views on the way to the top. Picnic tables and benches can be found along the hike as well as at the main viewpoint. Tip: There's a steep but wide and smooth bike trail that goes up to the viewpoint from the other side - it's accessed from Parmenter Road.

Teapot Hill

A super unique hike. Take your time with the kids and see how many teacups and teapots you can spot. Some are quite obvious; others are hidden quite well. Good luck!

Bridal Veil Falls

A short and easy trail to a popular, beautiful waterfall. If you can, avoid visiting on weekends, as it can get quite crowded.

GREAT FAMILY MEALS

Farmhouse is my top pick for multiple reasons. For the kids, there’s a giant playground, an outdoor lawn for kicking a ball around, lawn games, and some chickens the kids love to look at. The pizza is top-notch wood-fired style that kids and parents alike will love. They are dog-friendly, so if you’re coming from a hike with your fur babies, you’re in luck. Finally, for the parents, their beer selection is excellent and delicious!

There are 5 businesses located here, and three of them serve food.
If you’re looking for a brewery and patio, the dog-friendly Sidekick Brewing has delicious deep-dish pizzas and other great menu items, plus a dog-friendly patio and views of the Chilliwack River.
Next up is LAND Cafe, which has tasty breakfast and brunch-style options and, of course, delicious coffee.
Finally, Banter Ice Cream. Banter may not serve meals, but you know you’re getting dragged here after Sidekick Brewing or LAND (or after a climbing session next door at Project Climbing Center, for that matter). Good news – the ice cream is excellent.
